I was browsing the website Domaine Home when I came across a photo featuring beautiful open kitchen shelving and the most magnificent "Fuck Yeah" plate that I have ever seen. Gorgeously crafted and the affordable $25.00 price will literally have you saying "Fuck Yeah!". 

Artistically displaying the F-bomb doesn't have to begin and end in the kitchen. You can also express your feelings silently and delicately on your wrist. Or how about beading a firm FU across your favorite make-up bag? And wouldn't it be so sweet embossed in gold across your stationary? Nothing says "Thank you, I love it!" more than "Fuck Yeah". Now, I know this isn't everyones favorite word, but if James Lipton were ever to interview me on Inside the Actors Studio "Fuck" would easily be the answer to my favorite curse word. Can't help it.

I just came across Fire and Creme Kids, which is an amazing kids party planning website. They showcase tons of inspiration for non-cheesy parties (no Spongebob here) and I think the ideas can be modified to create the perfect whimsical adult party or shower. The site provides everything from furniture, props, costumes, etc and each theme has party boxes for sale filled with decorations, table settings, and goody bags. The boxes run pretty expensive, $200-$620, but I found some great alternatives to create your own Little Woodland Fairy Party on a budget. For about $80.00 you can get everything I have listed and with a little more cash, creativity and crafting you can easily make the ribbon streamers, felt crowns, and floral pendant banner. Another bonus, no need to pay for a party venue because fairies live outdoors!

I haven't blogged in a while, partly due to lack of time and mainly due to lack of inspiration. Last night I was jolted back into the game after watching HBO's Behind The Candelabra. Really, all I can say is WHOA and please go watch it for yourself. I was dying today because I had no one to talk to who had seen it, so I decided to do the next best thing and create a collage of what I believe Liberace would love to shop for if he was still alive today and a woman. What am I saying, he'd totally buy this stuff as a man!

Decorating for me is a such fun, but sometimes overwhelming experience.  I feel the same way about dressing, and the overwhelming part comes to play because I love everything. Modern, vintage, masculine, feminine, trendy, traditional, hard, soft, natural, colorful, old, new, I love it all.  I feel that the only way to satisfy my likings is to throw it all together and see what happens. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is an epic failure. I am in my twenties and still growing into my decor style. I will sometimes add or edit things into my home, but I live in a rental and I'm kind of broke so it is hard to decorate when you know one day you will transition into a more grown up and permanent situation. I hope to achieve a nice, effortless mixture of different pieces like the pictures above when I have my own home and the ability to do whatever I want with a grown-up budget.

While doing some Saturday morning blog searching I came across Glitter Mint, an adorable blog with great DIY's and ideas. I first came across the blog because of their Rodarte star clip DIY, and upon further reading I found these paint rollers as one of their Fave 5's. These rollers seem like a much easier alternative to stencils and a much cheaper alternative to wallpaper.  I'm totally sold, and can't wait to use these when decorating my grown-up home that I will one day own. Last weekend I was doing some DVR catch up, and saw a beautiful turquoise over-dyed rug on an episode of Home By Novogratz.  I love old vintage rugs, but sometimes they are way to traditional for my taste. Seeing them come to life in these bright, contemporary colors was so invigorating for my Sunday afternoon and I had to research, and research I did. ABC Home & Carpet carries a ton of these beauties, but they would cost me about two months rent, so they are a no go. Upon further searching I came across a really cool store, Loom, located in Australia. I liked these rugs even more than the ABC ones, but their prices were not listed and it is safe to say that shipping from down under costs about three months of rent. I was about to surrender to the fact that these rugs were out of my reach, until Overstock.com came to the rescue. A rainbow of over-dyed 8'x10" rugs for $399.00! They're not vintage like the others, but if they look as good as they do in the pictures, I could care less.

Sylvie's Vintage Inspired Nursery

 Sylvie's wardrobe, including lots of vintage pieces, make me wish I was a baby again. Older brother, Abraham, has his own incredible wardrobe and I swear he is the best dressed little boy I have ever seen!

Here is a glimpse into the new world of Sylvia Ruby West, born just this past September. This dreamy nursery was artfully designed, crafted, and created by Sylvie's mommy Allison.  Allison is an artist, hairstylist, and owner of an extensive collection of vintage decor, furniture, and clothing. Going to her house is literally like stepping into the past, and I always love to wander around and check out her ever-growing collection of antique goodies and artwork created by herself and friends. 

What I love most about Sylvie's nursery is how personal it is. Everything in her room was carefully collected, salvaged, and handmade with love.  The walls are covered with artwork created by Mommy and family friends, her wardrobe is filled with vintage pieces collected by Grandma and Auntie, and Mommy and Daddy (a carpenter and musician) brought an old dresser and armoire back to life with playful fruit designs straight out of the 70's.

Baby and family are doing well, and I can't wait to watch Sylvie grow up with her equally adorable big brother Abraham!
