Le Fashion shows off her clothes without showing off herself

Fashion blogs were a foreign being to me until I accidentally stumbled upon Rumi Neely's Fashion Toast about five years ago. Before this discovery, I was solely relying on magazines for my fashion fixes and while I am still obsessed with print material, discovering blogs opened me up to a whole new world.  Five years ago fashion blogs were not what they are today. Rumi was on the cusp of stardom, but in all she was a normal girl who whole heartedly loved fashion, like myself, and had a great outlet to share her passion with the world. I read Rumi's blog and a few others for about two years before finally gathering the courage to start my own. The main thing that was holding me back was the dreaded outfit posts.
Here's what's tricky, I am not a model. Not even close and I would look lame as fuck if I tried to be one. In fact I feel like the older I have gotten the worse I have gotten at taking pictures. I can't smize (although I have tried) and the bottom line is trying to look sexy in an interesting location is not me. In saying this I am not trying to put down the editorial style pics posted by girls like Rumi or Jane of  Sea of Shoes. I say if you got it, flaunt it and they definitely have the looks and talents to do so.  This is just not achievable for me, and even though I am reluctant, I still want to share my goods. Clothing goods not body part goods. Don't be dirty.
So, what to do when you want to show off said goods without "modeling". The answer is simple and it took finding the  Manrepeller to figure it out. Just look normal! Be yourself! Or if your body totally fails to take a decent picture, just feature the outfit a la' Le Fashion . After all, its the clothes that should be the focus, not me. That being said please enjoy my outfit shot taken in my front yard by my non photographer husband and his iPhone.

Random Photos of Lovely Things

-Sunday night, sitting around in a party dress with nowhere to go.
-These shoes were originally light pink and they practically looked invisible on my pale little feet. Decided to make them stand out with purple glitter.
- I worked on these three photos with my boyfriend Jimmy. The series is called "Hello Lover".
- "A Man and A Woman in Technicolor"
-Hooray, my first art show!!!
-My pink cactus is the perfect plant, it's adorable and never needs water!
- The ultimate Goodwill score: Brand New Pradas for $3.50! I will never be that lucky ever again.
-Aubre and I playing in the country.

Dance, Dance Till Your Dead

(asos romper, Target tights)

Seychelles boots

My friends Frank and Karen came in town and that meant having an impromtu dance party to Fever Ray, Peaches, Missy Elliot,  The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs,  and many more! We danced like fools and as a result the dance floor literally glittered with broken glass from slippery drink glasses and clumbsy fingers. These boots have a high heel, but they are so comfortable and perfect for dancing. I must admit, I am a horrible dancer, but when I get the urge I love to dance and I don't care how ridiculous I look!

Baby We Were Born For Fun

(shirt-americal apparel, necklace-vintage, skirt-express, tights-target, shoes-forever21, bag-free people)

Some randoms and pics from the Floating Action show. I am sitting around  my house in a grey sweatsuit. Yep, a grey sweatsuit. One you might find on a highschool gym teacher from 1982.  It has been a lazy day to say the least and  I am feeling the effects of a night of wine, lindsey lohans (vodka and sugar-free red bull) and lesbian karoke.

denim on denim

shirt-forever 21, sunglasses-Ray Ban, blazer- Urban Renewal, belt-vintage, shoes- Salvatore Ferragamo, bag-Chanel

I kind of like how this chamray shirt blends in with the cutoffs creating the illusion of a denim romper. I was very pleased to team it with my vintage snake belt given to me by my boyfriend's sister ,Christy, for xmas! It is such a beautiful piece and when I am not wearing it I leave it coiled around the gold lamp on my vanity.

I Now Know

(Jacket-Topshop, Dress- Forever 21)

This past weekend I saw The Crippled Master, my first kung fu movie, at B-Movie Blast.  It was pretty insane and really poorly overdubbed featuring a master missing his arms combining forces with a master missing his legs. It was entertaining for the first half, but then I started to fall asleep. Too much fighting for me.  Afterwards, I went out for the first time  in months, had an enjoyable time, and an inpromptu back storageroom photoshoot!  I love this dress I am wearing because it reminds me of a figure skating costume with it's nude, sheer neckline. Of course, my pale, pale skin color does not come close to matching it, so it is very obvious. The rest of the weekend constisted of failed estate sale shopping, sushi, crafts, and catching up on Twin Peaks.  I now know who killed Laura Palmer!

Snow Day!

Yesterday morning on my way to work it started to snow and it continued throughout the day. It finally started to stick around 11:30 pm and it was a beautiful sight. I was so excited that I grabbed my ipod and listened to Danny Elfman's music from Edward Scissorhands and danced under the street lights in the snow by myself just like Winona Ryder in the movie. I am obsessed with that movie and that scene. This morning there was about 4 inches of snow, which is the most snow we have seen since 1983. Jimmy and I decided to walk to breakfast, where I had the most delicious breakfast, and afterwards we had a snowball fight with the neighborhood kids. Sadly now it is all melted, and it looks as if it never happened, except for a few snowmen.
