Rumi in the Perfect LBLD

What's better than the perfect Little Black Dress?  The LBLD! Little Black Leather Dress and Little Brown Leather Dress, for those of you who may not know. I am all about any thing leather, and these leather shift dresses by the Australian line Kahlo are perfection.  My sister-in-law and nieces and nephew live in New Zealand, so perhaps when I visit we can hop on a plane for a quick shopping trip in Australia.

Goodbye Vidal Sasson

Vidal giving Mia Farrow the iconic pixie cut on the set of Rosemary's Baby

Carey Mulligan

Kate Moss

Emma Watson

Winona Ryder

One of the best scenes in the legendary film Rosemary's Baby occurs when the pregnant Rosemary surprises her not so thrilled husband with her new haircut. She meekly and in the cutest, almost British sounding voice (she is American, mind you) declares "It's Vidal Sasson". Sasson, who died today at the age of 84, did not invent the pixie cut, but he did make it iconic for women around the world for over the last fifty years. So thank you, Mr. Sasson and hopefully one day I will have the balls to actually get that pixie cut that we all love and admire.

Maurice Sendak on Fresh Air

I was never a much of a Maurice Sendak fan, having only read Where Wild Things Are as a child and never seeing the movie, but the man did capture my heart yesterday when I listened to his September 2011 interview with Terry Gross. If you have the time please listen to his touching Fresh Air interview.
