Spring 13' has officially made it to the streets. Well, not quite the streets you and I stroll, but the golden paved roads that only feature super models and super socialites as pedestrians.

Trends To "Fall" In Love With

Embellishments Everywhere

Everything from full length gowns to eyelids are being embellished with studs, rhinestones, appliqués, and embroidery. Go big with an embellished jacket or add a touch with a floral headband like the ladies at Dolce & Gabbana.

Head to Toe Black

Black is anything but basic with leather and sheer accents. Wear a top with leather sleeves or add a floor length sheer black skirt to your wardrobe.

Metallic Touches

Gold and silver metallic touches instantly bring any outfit to another level.  Perfect full on for holiday parties or add a metallic bag to your everyday wear.  If a gold lame outfit is a bit to much for you, go for a metallic mani to add a little edge.

Although it may not be crispy, cool everywhere (Louisiana doesn't get near frigid till X-mas or later) Fall 2012 is definitely here and oh boy it has been a doozie! Sandy was a real bitch, Halloween was a bust (for me at least) and I'm sure everyone on the planet is ready for this election to be over with. That being said, Fall still will always be the starting point for my favorite time of the year, the holiday season plus my birthday, YAY! Sylvie's Vintage Inspired Nursery

 Sylvie's wardrobe, including lots of vintage pieces, make me wish I was a baby again. Older brother, Abraham, has his own incredible wardrobe and I swear he is the best dressed little boy I have ever seen!

Here is a glimpse into the new world of Sylvia Ruby West, born just this past September. This dreamy nursery was artfully designed, crafted, and created by Sylvie's mommy Allison.  Allison is an artist, hairstylist, and owner of an extensive collection of vintage decor, furniture, and clothing. Going to her house is literally like stepping into the past, and I always love to wander around and check out her ever-growing collection of antique goodies and artwork created by herself and friends. 

What I love most about Sylvie's nursery is how personal it is. Everything in her room was carefully collected, salvaged, and handmade with love.  The walls are covered with artwork created by Mommy and family friends, her wardrobe is filled with vintage pieces collected by Grandma and Auntie, and Mommy and Daddy (a carpenter and musician) brought an old dresser and armoire back to life with playful fruit designs straight out of the 70's.

Baby and family are doing well, and I can't wait to watch Sylvie grow up with her equally adorable big brother Abraham!

A Dance Party

 Jimmy, looking like a buff Parisian school boy, and clearly over it all.

I will be the first to admit that I may be the worst dancer in the world, but when I get the urge I just gotta let myself go and dance, dance, dance!!!! I was delighted to find out that everyone's favorite mincine? was having a dance party fundraiser, and the night was a blast with balloons, streamers, delicious vegan hors d'oeuvres, 80's music (the good stuff, not that Poison and Go-Go's shit) and plenty of dance floor to let me release my inner dancing beast.  The night was also an opportunity to wear my Marni bra top, that I got for a steal at every designer hungry, cash-strapped shopper's best friend, The Outnet. I do love this little number, but it is such a bitch to get on and off. I literally have to get in an upward divers pose, and then my husband, Jimmy, has to slide me in and out of it. Needless to say, if I don't have a buddy who I don't mind seeing me topless, the Marni is a no-go. But, hey it's worth the pain and effort for the sake of fashion, right?

Yes, I just called a 4 year old a bitch, but only because I am so jealous of how adorable she is and she was a Fashion Week, while I was not. Oh and btw, she's Alexander Wang's niece, Aila.
