Office Inspiration

For sometime now I have been wanting to properly decorate my office/craft room/dressing room/air mattress-guest bedroom. Yes, that is quite a busy room, and a room serving so many purposes is very hard to keep pretty and organized. As you may have guessed this room is a disaster with piles of clothes, paper, and totally random stuff. Oh, and may I add, this room also houses my husbands school desk, fishing poles, guitar and amp. Oh the joys of having lots of hobbies, and only one extra room! Gradually, I am going to tame and beautify this beast, and I am going to do it all on a microscopic budget. Stay tuned for the progress and note the lovely pics above providing much inspiration for the desk area in my major multi-purpose room.

Reading List

1. A big thank you to my sister-in-law, Christy, for Encyclopedia of The Exquisite. It has gotten rave reviews from the likes of Tory Birch and Sarah Jessica Parker, so you know it has to be good. I can't wait to read it and indulge in all things exquisite!

2. In celebration of the arrival of baby Blue Ivy Carter I have decided to crack open Decoded, by Daddy J.

3. One of my besties, Nicole, got me Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty for xmas. My secret santa knows me to well!

4. It took me no time at all to finish Patti Boyd's memoir, because it was just so juicy! In case you did not know, Patti was a British supermodel in the 60's and the love and muse of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton. Quite the page turner.

New York Highlight Part Trois- Laduree

While I had many NY highlights, this will be the last one I share, because we get it and I gotta move on, yada, yada. I just had to post this one because it's so obnoxiously cutesy. I'm not afraid to admit that I am a sucker for trendy desserts, especially French ones that get written about in Vogue.  As soon as I read about Laduree opening in New York earlier this summer, I made it a must do on my xmas trip.  Laduree is a tiny Parisian jewel box of a macaroon store slightly bigger than my kitchen.  My husband and I, along with almost twenty other people crammed into this little bit of pastel heaven.  So French, so pretty, so girlie, I loved it (and thank you to Jimmy enduring it)! After quite a wait we finally got our six precious macaroons beautifully packaged in a lavender box and tucked into a light green bag.  For me the packaging alone was worth the wait.  We savored our treats on a rock in Central Park and they did taste amazing.  Very tasty and tangy, like bursts of goodness in your mouth.  

So reader, if you are in New York, have twenty bucks (no tax!), a sweet tooth and an hour to kill, go to Laduree and treat yourself to a tiny bit of luxury.

New York Highlight Part Un- Meeting...wait for it...THE MANREPELLER!

During my recent trip, Vogue and Coach hosted a holiday party at Coach's Flagship store on Madison Ave. How did I go to this party you may wonder. It was simple really, one of my favorite bloggers, The Manrepeller, was hosting and she invited her readers. I called, RSVPed, and then boom I'm drinking champagne in the company of Vogue big wigs. It was really quite something and all very exciting because I got to meet one of my style icons and super big time style blogger Leandra Medine. She was very sweet, admitted to me her obsession with redheads, and liked my southern accent and black, glittery manicure. To top it all off Coach gave everyone a custom monogrammed  hang tag for free (I chose baby-blue embossed with gold BB)!  Oh, and congrats to the Manrepeller who just announced her engagement! A true love is someone who doesn't care what you wear no matter how repelling (or fabulous) it is. Hear that boys!?!

Shame, Shame

Ever since I saw this preview last week, it has been haunting me. Not spooky, scary haunting me, more like it's always lingering in the back of my mind haunting me. I think the music has a lot to do with it. Even when it is presented as cold and depressing, New York is still so appealing. And not to mention sexy! NC-17 sexy!!!
