I believe this is my first ever food post! I am an awesome eater, but I really don't know much about what I am eating or how to prepare it. When it comes to cooking I mainly do the same old chicken and veggies and that can get pretty dull. I decided to spice things up a bit and found two chicken recipes I wanted to try from Pinterest. The first thing I decided to try was Korean BBQ chicken. I really should give my husband all the credit because he is the one who prepared it and we grilled it at our friends Rachel and James' house. According to my husband, it was very easy to make and and everyone agreed that it tasted outstanding.  

My husband and I double teamed the chicken paillard Thursday night. The recipe has you beat the chicken breast with a tenderizer mallet, which I do not have, so I improvised and put the chicken in a gallon ziploc bag and beat it with a regular hammer. This worked beautifully and when the recipe called for using a mortar and pestle to create a paste with garlic cloves and salt, the ziploc bag and hammer came to the rescue again!  We decided to cook the chicken in a skillet rather than on the grill and it turned out very tasty. The garlic paste hardened and created a thin flavorful crust on the chicken. 

Overall, both recipes were a success and I can't wait to make each dish again.

Finished Reading: Grace: A Memoir by Grace Coddington - I got this for Christmas and finally got around to reading it last month. A must read for any fashion lover!

Currently Reading: The Dude And The Zen Master by Jeff Bridges and Bernie Glassman- Recommended to me by my friend Deanna. Tons of insight on living a positive and zen life.

Will Be Reading Next: Woody Allen by Nancy Pogel- I love anything Woody, so I was thrilled to come across this gem along with Mia Farrow's memoir,What Falls Away, at a used book bazaar. I immediately delved deep into Mia's memoir and found her life fascinating and her marriage to Woody totally bizarre. I bought this book for the cover art alone and it has been prominently displayed on my bookshelf itching to be read. Interestingly enough, when I was searching for a this book online I found a vintage copy on sale at an Australian book store for $80.00. Pretty awesome score being that I paid less than a dollar for it!

I just came across Fire and Creme Kids, which is an amazing kids party planning website. They showcase tons of inspiration for non-cheesy parties (no Spongebob here) and I think the ideas can be modified to create the perfect whimsical adult party or shower. The site provides everything from furniture, props, costumes, etc and each theme has party boxes for sale filled with decorations, table settings, and goody bags. The boxes run pretty expensive, $200-$620, but I found some great alternatives to create your own Little Woodland Fairy Party on a budget. For about $80.00 you can get everything I have listed and with a little more cash, creativity and crafting you can easily make the ribbon streamers, felt crowns, and floral pendant banner. Another bonus, no need to pay for a party venue because fairies live outdoors!

Best Friends


Super cute video for Rachel Anton's Fall 13' collection created by none other than Anton's real life BFF Lena Dunham. This film has a Wes Anderson feel and also reminded me of the superbly delightful movie Frances Ha, directed by Noah Baumbach and co-starring Lena's GIRLS beau Adam Driver. Baumbach co-wrote Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Life Aquatic with Anderson and I'd like to think that they are real life BFFs as well.
