NYFW Fall RTW

 Alexander Wang                                                      Alice + Olivia

Marc Jacobs

Loads of black and white for Fall, and tons of textures. Leathers, furs, feathers, velvets, and oh so much sheer, all of my favorite things!

Erin Wasson x RVCA

I go back and forth liking  Erin's looks, but this collection was her at her best.   Lots of neutral, well made basics adorned with black berets and jewelry that looked like treasures found at estate sales and flea markets. Another plus, Yeasayer performed! Well done Miss Wasson.

The Row

I am not afraid to admit it, the Olsens have me whipped. They can do no wrong in my eyes.  Simplicity at it's chicest. What can these girls not do!

Erin Fetherston

Erin's creations always remind me of what a modern day fairy would wear.  Once again so much sheer and I loved how her collection flowed with the blacks, whites, splashes of bronze and shades of purple. My favorite part was her bird print pieces. How whimsical!

Marchesa

Oh. My. God. I love this collection so much! The girls at Marchesa never fail to pull at my girly girl heart strings. And  paired with the Louboutins, makes everything even more amazing. This really makes me wish I had an endless clothing budget and many formals to attend.

Diane von Furstenberg

Someone should have a ceremony and make Diane the offical Queen of New York Fashion, because you can't get any better than this! This collection alone could make up any fashion fiend's wardrobe, with all the varied looks and aesthetics. Some collections can be a bit dull with few colors and little changes from silhouette to silhouette, but this collection kind of reminds me of a good playlist. All of your favorite things thrown together perfectly.  What a beautiful mix of colors, textures, prints, and styles to desire.

I Now Know

(Jacket-Topshop, Dress- Forever 21)

This past weekend I saw The Crippled Master, my first kung fu movie, at B-Movie Blast.  It was pretty insane and really poorly overdubbed featuring a master missing his arms combining forces with a master missing his legs. It was entertaining for the first half, but then I started to fall asleep. Too much fighting for me.  Afterwards, I went out for the first time  in months, had an enjoyable time, and an inpromptu back storageroom photoshoot!  I love this dress I am wearing because it reminds me of a figure skating costume with it's nude, sheer neckline. Of course, my pale, pale skin color does not come close to matching it, so it is very obvious. The rest of the weekend constisted of failed estate sale shopping, sushi, crafts, and catching up on Twin Peaks.  I now know who killed Laura Palmer!

Cheap Thrills

Nicole's

Mine

Nicole called me randomly Sunday afternoon and asked if I wanted to make coasters with her and I said "How could I resist!" So here they are, made with $0.12 tiles, mod podge (every decopager's best friend), and old catalogs. I had once wanted to have a girl's craft night every Sunday, but it happend like once, so maybe it is time for a comeback!

Pink Valentine

dress- vintage, shoes- miu miu, ring- made her think, bracelet-chan luu
I bought this bright pink taffeta dress two years ago at an estate sale for $3, because it reminded me of the Oscar de la Renta dress that Carrie wore to McDonalds with the Russian. The dress color did not photograph well, but it is the same pink as Carrie's. I have never had a chance to wear it, because it needed some major tailoring and I finally decided to get it fixed to wear on Valentine's day. The woman who owned it before was rather tall and volumtious, but the fabric was so beautiful and at such a great price, I had to have it. I love buying stuff from estate sales, and I can't help but wonder who owned this dress and where she wore it. Oh, if only all things vintage could talk! I hope she enjoyed herself as much as I did wearing it. Jimmy and I went to our favorite Italian restaurant where I stuffed myself to the brim, then we recovered on the couch watching Twin Peaks. It was simple and lovely!

Hello Lover!

Home is wherever I'm with you!

Happy Valentine's to my favorite!

cause you are apppaaarrtt of my heart!

necklace max and chloe, shirt asos, skirt express

Hallie has a new haircut and I love it! She was going for Twiggy and it looks great.

Oh, Nicole!

These are from a party last weekend. I thought the heart balloon was appropriate for Valentine's Eve. In honor of Valentine's Eve, I just saw True Romance at the Friday Night Freakout. I really liked it. Lots of violence and blood, but what a sweet little romance. Patricia Arquette was adorable with her cute southern accent and leopard fur coat!

Snow Day!

Yesterday morning on my way to work it started to snow and it continued throughout the day. It finally started to stick around 11:30 pm and it was a beautiful sight. I was so excited that I grabbed my ipod and listened to Danny Elfman's music from Edward Scissorhands and danced under the street lights in the snow by myself just like Winona Ryder in the movie. I am obsessed with that movie and that scene. This morning there was about 4 inches of snow, which is the most snow we have seen since 1983. Jimmy and I decided to walk to breakfast, where I had the most delicious breakfast, and afterwards we had a snowball fight with the neighborhood kids. Sadly now it is all melted, and it looks as if it never happened, except for a few snowmen.
